Study with the Vogler Quartet
Since 2007 we teach chamber music at the Stuttgart Musikhochschule. A main focus of our work is teaching string quartet work. String quartets can take on an additional study for chamber music with us (usually up to 2 years). Shortly this additional study will be changed into master course studies. Interested string quartets from Germany as well as from abroad can apply for a course. We imagine, that professional and advanced ensembles can profit from this work as well as new-founded ones, also those which would just like to broaden their musical horizon, maybe before an audition. At least in todays music businiess huge versatility is needed and not every string quartet will stay together for years since in the world of chamber music shows growing competition.
But there is also the general aspect of chamber music: to listen to each other, respond to each other, learning to read music, working with the scores, social competence - in short it is about those things, which are highly important within the musical sphere. One should also remind the fact, that a successful audition is only the first step on the way to a firm place in an orchestra. The probationary year is the second step and perhaps the more demanding one. To successfully pass a probationary year many of the above mentioned qualities are needed. Of course it is also and with priority about the music, about the thing itself, since we string quartets have the greatest repertoire to work with. Lets experience, dilight ourselves and carry it in the world!
Interested ensembles can ask for an appointment at the Stuttgart Musikhochschule college or are welcome to contact us personally. Our other main focus is to work with ensembles already studying at the Hochschule, have met here and beside their main subject would be interested to pursue chamber music. This concerns by no means only string quartets - chamber music groups of all kinds can work with us: Piano trios, prank trios, quintets, sextets, octets etc... Interested ensembles of the Hochschule or students with ideas for projects are warmly invited to announce themselves to us.
